Sophia Jordan

It is often said that every good business is born from a desire to fulfill a need. When a local bakery stopped selling the freshly baked Cranberry Pistachio biscotti she enjoyed, Sophia was forced to bake a batch herself.

Being an Omaha Police Officer, she had found baking and cooking in general to be a way to detox from police work. “There was something about the smell of baking cookies in the house that was very therapeutic for me."

In 2012 Black Bottom Biscotti opened in North Omaha and today supplies area specialty and coffee shops with her fabulous fresh baked desserts.

Now retired, Sophia aka “BiscottiMama”, is coming to terms with her once hobby being more work than therapy. “I’m grateful for the people that I’ve met, who have enriched my life, and for the opportunity to share my love of biscotti with others”.

She is the mother of three adult children and a grandmother of five.
